## Refer a Friend, Get a Free Month
Every account now has a personal referral code and a short share link you can send to other
musicians. When someone signs up through your link, they get an extra free month on their trial,
and once their first paid invoice goes through you get a free month credited to your account.
Your code, your share link, and how many friends have joined all live in your account area. On the
signup form there's now a single "Promo or Referral Code" field, so a referral code and a promo
code go in the same place.
## International Shows and Venue Time Zones
Shows are no longer US only. Pick a country for any show and you'll get the right address fields
for it, including postal codes, with the state dropdown and ZIP still there for US venues.
Show times are now handled as the time at the venue, which is how you think about them anyway. We
detect the venue's time zone from the city and country you enter, and you can change it yourself if
we get it wrong. Dates and times on your site, in your dashboard, and in calendar exports all show
in the venue's time zone, so an evening show never turns up on the wrong day for you or for your
fans.
## Export Your Shows to a Calendar
There's a new "Export to .ics" button on your Shows page. Choose upcoming shows only or upcoming
plus past shows, and you'll get a calendar file you can import into Apple Calendar, Google
Calendar, Outlook, or anything else that reads calendar files. Handy for sharing your run of dates
with a bandmate or a tour manager.
## Invite Your Team
You can now invite other people to help manage your site. There's a new Team page where you can
send an invitation to any email address, and whoever accepts gets their own login that can add
content, build sections, and edit your settings. No more sharing your password with your manager.
Invited members are free, up to 5 per site. They can do everything you can except manage your
domain, your billing, and your team, and they only see the site you invited them to. Head to
[Team Members](/team) for the full rundown.
## Schedule Your Links
Links in your Links List can now be scheduled too. Click the clock button on any link to set when it
appears and when it disappears. Handy for a pre-save link that should vanish on release day, or a
ticket link that only needs to be up for a few weeks.
## Schedule When Content Appears
You can now set a "visible from" and "visible until" time on your sections and on individual items
inside them, so content shows up and steps away on its own. Line up a new single to go live at
midnight, or let a tour announcement retire itself after the last show.
Pick the times in whatever timezone you're thinking in and we'll show you what that means elsewhere
in the world. A collection section with nothing currently visible hides itself automatically, and
you always see everything in your editor, scheduled or not. There's a new Timezone setting in
Settings → Info that sets your default reference timezone for scheduling.
## Add Your Own Tracking Pixels
You can now connect your own analytics to your site. Add your Meta Pixel and Google Analytics (GA4)
IDs in Settings and Monophonic will load them on your public site, so you can measure traffic and
ad performance with the tools you already use.
## Click to Enlarge Photos
Visitors can now click any photo in a grid to open it full size in a lightbox. It's an easier way
for fans to take in your images without leaving the page.
## Upload Your Own Fonts
You're no longer limited to our built-in font library. In Settings → Typography you can now upload your
own font file (woff2, woff, ttf, or otf) for your headings or your body text, perfect for matching a
specific brand or band typeface. For each slot you can either pick a Google font or upload your own,
whichever you like.
## Drag-and-Drop Reordering
Reordering your content is now drag-and-drop. Grab any item and drop it where you want it. No more
clicking up and down arrows one step at a time. This works across your Tracks, Videos, Photos, and Merch
sections, as well as your Links List and Social Menu.
## Carousel Display for Sections
Your Tracks, Videos, Photos, and Merch sections can now be displayed as a swipeable carousel instead of
a grid. On mobile, carousels show one item at a time with a peek at what's coming next, and the dots
stay in sync as visitors swipe.
## Email List Integrations
You can now connect your email marketing service to collect signups directly from your site. We've added
native support for Kit, Klaviyo, Mailchimp, and Sender. Add your details and fans can join your list
without leaving your page.
## Primary Track Link
You can now set a "primary link" on a track so its artwork links straight out to wherever matters most,
whether that's your main streaming page, a pre-save, or anywhere you choose. Visitors just tap the cover
art to get there.
## Improved Links List Feature
This release brings several improvements to the Links List feature. Links can now display thumbnail or hero images,
and a new share modal makes it easy for visitors to copy and share individual links.
## Seated Integration
Added support for embedding Seated ticket widgets directly into your site. If you use Seated for ticket sales,
you can now paste your Seated embed code into a new "Seated" section and it will display natively on your site.
## Allow Images in Text Section
Text sections can now include images alongside your written content. This gives you more flexibility to create
rich, visual layouts without needing a separate Photos section.
## Add Past Shows Page
Your site now has a dedicated Past Shows page at \[your-site]/past-shows. This page automatically lists your
previous shows and events, so fans and industry contacts can see your performance history.
## Multi-Site Accounts
This release introduces "Multi-Site" accounts, which is exactly what it sounds like... a single account managing up to 5 different sites.
To take advantage of this, just log into your existing account, and visit the Account page, scroll down, and you'll see a new
"Add a Site" section. Each additional site is just another $3.99/month each (or $39.99/year annually per site).
This is perfect for labels, managers, and people who are in too many bands.
## Update Font Selection UI
This release updates the font selection UI, making it easier to browse and choose fonts. Users now see a grid of many font options,
each displaying the user's band / artist name by default (and this preview text can be edited). Selecting a font automatically saves it,
making the process much quicker.
## New Analytics Dashboard
This release adds a new Analytics Dashboard.
Visit /dashboard by clicking "Dashboard" in the main navigation area, and you'll see a breakdown of site traffic, including
total visitors, visitors by date over time, link clicks, top links, recent activity, and top referrers.
## New Links List Feature
This release adds a new feature called the "Links List". This is essentially a "Link in Bio" service.
Go to your Monophonic dashboard and click on "Links List" in the "Site" section of the nav. There, you can add links of any kind,
whether to social media, special projects, merch, or whatever you like.
Once finished, your "Links List" will be available at \[your-site.com]/links (or \[your-artist-name].monophonic.site).
## Band Logo Images in Header
Added support for displaying the "band logo" image in the header, as an alternative to using plain text for the band / artist name.

How to add links to your website

Links are a unique kind of content because they're much simpler than other content in Monophonic.io.
Any links you add will be included in the upper right navigation of your site, so really, these are "social media links".
Whatever link you create, the appropriate icon for the service will be used. For example, if you create a link to your Instagram account, an Instagram icon will show on your site.
## Create a New Link
To create a new link, just click on "Links" in the left-hand menu, in the "Content" area.
Once you're there, you'll see a button that says "Add Link". Click it, and type in the URL, and hit save.
You can reorder links using the arrows on each link to move it either up or down in the list.

How to add and manage your merch in Monophonic.io

## Create New Merch
To create new merch, just click on "Merch" in the left-hand menu, in the "Content" area.
Once you're there, you'll see a button that says "Add Merch". Click it and fill out the form that appears.
Keep in mind that Monophonic.io doesn't actually do any e-commerce or let visitors buy your merch. The idea is to create Merch items and link them to wherever you sell them online.
This allows you to use whatever service you want to sell your merch. We're not trying to reinvent the wheel, we just want to help you direct your fans to buy your stuff!
## Merch Fields
Here is a list of the fields you can add for a Merch item:

How to add and manage your shows inside of Monophonic.io

## Create a New Show
To create a new show, just click on "Shows" in the left-hand menu, in the "Content" area.
Once you're there, you'll see a button that says "Add Show". Click it and fill out the form that appears.
Shows are somewhat unique in Monophonic.io in that they will automatically display on the website, if you've added a "Shows" section to your website.
Shows that take place in the future will appear in the "Shows" section of the website, while Shows that have taken place in the past will simply not be displayed.
## Show Fields
Here is a list of the fields you can add for a Show:
| Field Name | Description |
| :------------------------------ | :------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| `Show Name` | If the event has a name (e.g. Fyre Festival), you can include it here. |
| `Date` | The date of the show. |
| `Time` | The start time of the show. Use the time as it reads at the venue, so if the show is in Los Angeles and doors are at 8pm local time, just put 8pm. |
| `Venue` | The name of the venue where the show will take place. |
| `Address` | The address of the Venue where the show takes place (specifically, this is the street number and street name only). |
| `City` | The city where the show takes place. |
| `State` (or `State / Province`) | For US shows this is a dropdown of states. For everywhere else it's a text field you can fill in or leave blank. |
| `ZIP Code` (or `Postal Code`) | The venue's ZIP or postal code. |
| `Country` | The country the show takes place in. US sits at the top of the list, with everywhere else after it. |
| `Time Zone` | The venue's time zone. We fill this in for you based on the city and country, and you can change it if we guess wrong. |
| `Ticket URL` | A link where people can buy a ticket to the show (or, at the very least, a link to a web page dedicated to the show or tour). |
| `Show Image` | If there's an associated image or poster you'd like to include for the show, you can upload that image here. |
## Shows Outside the US
Pick the country first and the address fields adjust to match. US shows get the state dropdown and a ZIP code field. Everywhere else gets a free text State / Province field, which you can leave empty for countries that don't use one, plus a postal code field.
Changing the country clears whatever was in the State field, since a state from the old country doesn't mean anything in the new one. Just pick the new one after you switch.
## Time Zones
Show times are always the time at the venue. Enter 8pm for an 8pm show and that's what your fans see, wherever they happen to be reading your site from.
We work out the venue's time zone from the city and country you enter and fill in the **Time Zone** field for you. If we get it wrong, pick the right one yourself and we'll leave it alone from then on.
Fill in the city and country before the date and time if you can. The time zone lands first that way, though we recheck the math when you save either way.
## Export Your Shows to a Calendar
Once you have at least one show, an **Export to .ics** button appears at the top of the Shows page. Click it and pick what you want:
* **Upcoming shows only**, which is the default
* **Upcoming and past shows**
Each option shows how many shows it covers. Click **Download** and you'll get a `shows.ics` file you can import into Google Calendar, Apple Calendar, Outlook, and most other calendar apps. Every show keeps its venue time zone, so the dates land correctly for whoever opens the file.
Handy for sending a run of dates to a bandmate, a tour manager, or the person driving the van.

## Create a New Track
To create a new track, just click on "Tracks" in the left-hand menu, in the "Content" area.
Once you're there, you'll see a button that says "Add Track". Click it and fill out the form that appears.
Remember that when you add a Track, you're just adding it to your "inventory" of stuff to include in your website. It won't actually be visible on the site until you decide to add or edit a "Section" that actually uses the Track!
This is helpful, for example, if you want to add a song that hasn't been released yet, so you can get that work out of the way.
## Track Fields
Here is a list of the fields you can add for a Track:

| `Track Title` | The name of the track / song |

| `Artwork` | An image of your cover art for this track. |
| `ISRC Code` | The ISRC code for the track. This is the International Standard Recording Code used to uniquely identify the track. If you don't know the code for the track you're creating, you can make your own... learn how by visiting the [ISRC Website](https://usisrc.org/). |
| `Embed Code` | If you want to embed a player for the track, copy the embed code here. |

How to add and manage videos in Monophonic.io

## Create a New Video
To create a new video, just click on "Videos" in the left-hand menu, in the "Content" area.
Once you're there, you'll see a button that says "Add Video". Click it and fill out the form that appears.
Remember that when you add a Video, you're just adding it to your "inventory" of stuff to include in your website. It won't actually be visible on the site until you decide to add or edit a "Section" that actually uses the Video!

# Custom Domain

How to set up a custom domain for your Monophonic.io site
You can apply a domain you own to your Monophonic.io site. For example, if your band is called "Non-Union Background", your default url will be:

nonunionbackground.monophonic.site
```
...but if you buy the domain "nonunionbackground.com" from a domain registrar like [Gandi.net](https://gandi.net), you can set that domain to point to your Monophonic.io-powered site.
## Buying a Domain Name
There's lots of services to choose from when it comes to buying a domain name, and just about any will work. The only thing you'll need is the ability to set DNS records for the domain, which is a common set of features.
## A Quick Technical Note
In order to connect your domain, you'll need to create / edit DNS records.
If this sounds new or intimidating, give [this article](https://www.cloudflare.com/learning/dns/dns-records/) a glance.
While editing DNS records is not too awful, if you don't know what you're doing, it is possible to mess up some stuff, especially if you have email set up with your domain, for example. So proceed carefully, or seek out some help if you're unsure.

## Connecting your Domain
Once you have a domain, you can set it up to point to your Monophonic-powered site.
### Step 1: Add Domain
The first step is to log in and go to the "Domains" area of the [https://manage.monophonic.site](https://manage.monophonic.site). Click on the "Add Domain" button, and fill out the form.
### Step 2: Domain Verification
Once you add a domain, you'll see a TXT record value that will help to verify that you own the domain. Copy the TXT record you see, log into your domain registrar, and navigate to where you can manage DNS records.
The TXT record will look something like this:

### Step 3: Add A Record and CNAME Record
You'll need to wait a little while after entering the TXT record to verify your domain ownership. Once verified, the last step is to create two more DNS records... An "A" record and a "CNAME" record.
This process will be just like adding the TXT record. Log into your domain registrar, navigate to where you manage DNS records, and copy the values you see inside Monophonic to create the A and CNAME records.
Again, once these last records are entered, it may take up to 48 hours for the changes to take effect. But once the changes have propagated across the internet, your domain will now be pointing to your Monophonic-powered site!

When you create your new Monophonic.io account and website, you'll automatically get a URL that follows this format:

Manage multiple band or artist websites from a single Monophonic account
## What is Multi-Site?
Multi-Site is a powerful feature that allows you to create and manage multiple separate websites from a single Monophonic account. This is perfect for:
* **Managers or labels** — Oversee websites for multiple artists or bands
* **Musicians in multiple bands** — Keep each project's website separate and distinct
* **Solo artists with side projects** — Manage your main artist site plus collaborative projects
Each site operates independently with its own:
* Content (tracks, videos, shows, photos, merch, links)
* Design and branding
* Domain name (custom or monophonic.site subdomain)
* Analytics and performance data
## How It Works
Click the site switcher dropdown in the top navigation bar of your dashboard to see all your sites.
Select "Create New Site" from the dropdown to add another website to your account.
Each site has its own independent settings, content, and design that won't affect your other sites.
Use the site switcher to quickly navigate between managing different websites.
## Creating a New Site
When you create a new site, you'll be prompted to enter:
1. **Site Name** — The name of your band, artist, or project
2. **Subdomain** — Your free monophonic.site subdomain (e.g., `mynewband.monophonic.site`)
After creation, you can immediately start adding content and customizing the design for that specific site.
## Switching Between Sites
The site switcher is located in the top navigation bar of your dashboard. Click it to:
* View all your sites at a glance
* Quickly switch to a different site
* Create a new site
* See which site you're currently managing
When you switch sites, the entire dashboard updates to show that site's content, design settings, and analytics.
## Site Independence
Each site you create is completely independent:
Content added to one site doesn't appear on other sites. Each site has its own tracks, videos, shows, photos, merch, and links.
Colors, fonts, logos, and styling are specific to each site. You can have completely different looks for each project.
Each site can have its own custom domain or monophonic.site subdomain.
View analytics and visitor data separately for each site to track performance individually.
## Pricing and Limits
Each additional site is \$3.99/month, or \$39.99/year.
An account can add up to 4 sites, for a total of 5 sites under one account.

Get your band's website together in just a few minutes
## 1. Create an Account

To get your band's website launched, start by visiting [https://manage.monophonic.site/signup](https://manage.monophonic.site/signup) and, well, sign up. No credit card needed, and you'll get a 14-day trial.
Next, you'll enter some information about your band / you as an artist:
Enter your first and last name.
Next, you'll enter the name of your band or of yourself as an artist.
By default, you get a monophonic subdomain, e.g. "myband.monophonic.site", so enter your desired subdomain (you'll be able to connect a custom domain if you want later on)
## 2. Add Content

Monophonic.io supports various kinds of content to display in your site, including Tracks, Shows, Photos, Videos, and others. Before you can show any of this conent in your site, you'll need to add it to the system.
To add content, just visit the content area... you'll see a button to add new content of that type. Click that and add away!

## 3. Create Site Sections

Once you've added some content, the last step is to create "Sections" for your website. A Section is just a part of the site that shows off some of your content, like your latest single or music video.

# Refer a Friend

Share your referral link to give friends an extra free month and earn free months yourself
## Give a Free Month, Get a Free Month
Every Monophonic account comes with a personal referral link. Send it to another artist, and when they sign up:
Instead of the standard 14-day trial, a friend who signs up with your link gets an extra 30 days on top, for 44 days total.
Once your friend makes their first payment, we credit a free month to your account. It comes off your next invoice automatically.
There's no limit. Refer five friends who stick around and that's five free months.
## Finding Your Link
Click your name in the top navigation and choose **Account**.
It shows your referral link, your code, and how you're doing so far.
Click the copy button next to the link. It looks like `https://manage.monophonic.site/r/ABCD2345`.
### Or just share your code
Under your link you'll see your 8-character code on its own. Friends who'd rather sign up the normal way can type it into the **Promo or Referral Code** field on the signup form. Promo codes and referral codes both go in that one field, so there's nothing to figure out.
Codes leave out characters that look alike, so there's no I, L, O, U, zero, or one to mix up. Capitals don't matter either, and we ignore any spaces or dashes.
## Getting Your Free Month
Your reward arrives when your friend's first real payment goes through, which is after their trial ends and their first invoice is paid. Until then the referral sits as **pending**.
When it lands, we email you to say you've earned a free month, and the credit is applied to your account. Your next invoice is reduced by that amount with nothing for you to redeem.
## Keeping Track
The Refer a Friend card shows two numbers:

A friend can sit in pending for a while, since they've got 44 days of trial to enjoy first.
## Good to Know
* **Your friend has to use the link or code when they sign up.** We can't attach a referral to an account after the fact, so send your link before they create their account.
* **You can't refer yourself.** Using your own code on a new account does nothing.
* **The extra trial month doesn't stack with a longer promo trial.** If your friend has a promo code that's worth more than 44 days, they get whichever is longer, not both added together.
* **A wrong code never breaks a signup.** If a code is mistyped or expired, signup carries on as normal without the referral bonus.
* **You need your own subscription to collect.** If you're only helping manage someone else's site as an [editor](/team), there's no invoice to credit.

# Scheduling

Set when your content appears (or disappears!) on your site
Scheduling lets you decide when something shows up on your site (and if you like, when it goes away again).
Line up a new single to appear at midnight on release day. Put up a pre-order link and let it retire itself the day the record ships. You set it once and forget about it.
Scheduling only affects your public site. Your content library and your editor always show you everything, scheduled or not, so you never lose track of your own stuff.
## Set your timezone first
Go to **Settings → Info** and set the **Timezone** field. This is the timezone Monophonic assumes when you schedule something, so set it to whatever is most appropriate.
Note that you can still pick a different timezone for any individually scheduled item if needed.
## Schedule a section
In your site editor, find the section you want to schedule and click its **Settings** (gear) button.
Pick **Schedule** from the menu. A window opens where you can set the schedule for the whole section and for the items inside it.
Fill in **Visible from**, **Visible until**, or both. Leave one blank if you only care about the other. "Visible from" with no "Visible until" means it appears on that date and stays forever.
Click **Save**. That's it.
Under your dates you'll see a line telling you exactly what you just set, translated into a couple of other timezones. Something like:
> Goes live everywhere at Fri, Apr 24, 12:00 AM (America/New\_York), that's Thu, Apr 23, 9:00 PM in Los Angeles, Fri, Apr 24, 5:00 AM in London.
This is worth reading before you save. Your content goes live at one single moment worldwide, so if you want your midnight release to feel like midnight for your fans in London, that's the line that tells you what your fans in London will actually get.
## Schedule one item inside a section
Individual tracks, photos, videos, and merch items can have their own schedules, so you can drop one new track into an existing Tracks section without touching the rest.
There are two ways to get there:
Open the section's **Schedule** window (above). Below the section's own dates you'll find **Item Schedules**, with a row for every item in the section. Click **Schedule** next to an item, set your dates, then click **Save Item Schedule**.
Click into the section and open **Manage Tracks** (or Manage Photos, Videos, or Merch). Every item you've selected has a **Schedule** button on its card. Click it, set your dates, then **Save**.
If the button is greyed out, you've selected the item but haven't saved that selection yet. Save first, then schedule.
Adding a track whose release date is still in the future? Monophonic pre-fills "Visible from" with that release date automatically. Change it if you like, it's only a suggestion.
## Schedule a link
On your **Links List** page, every link has a small clock button next to it. Click it, set your dates, **Save**. Great for a pre-save link that should disappear on release day, or a ticket link that only needs to be up for a few weeks.
## Removing a schedule
Any schedule window you've already saved has a **Remove Schedule** button. Click it and the item goes back to being always visible. You can also just clear the dates with the **Clear** link next to them.
## Good to know
* **A section and its items both have to be open.** An item won't appear before its section does. If your section is scheduled for Friday and a track inside it is scheduled for Wednesday, the track shows up Friday.
* **Empty sections hide themselves.** If everything in a Tracks, Videos, Photos, Merch, or Shows section is scheduled out, the whole section disappears from your site instead of leaving an empty gap. It comes back on its own when something in it becomes visible.
* **Your editor shows a badge, not a disappearance.** Scheduled content stays right where it is in your editor with a little clock badge on it saying "Scheduled for..." or "Hidden after...". That's how you tell at a glance.
* **Changes take effect right away.** There's no publish step and no waiting around. The next visitor to load your page gets the current state.
* **Shows schedule themselves.** Shows already appear and disappear based on their own date, so there's no per-show schedule. You can still schedule the Shows section as a whole.
# Sections vs. Content

The difference between Sections and Content in Monophonic
Managing your Monophonic site means understanding two concepts: Sections, and Content.
Let's start with Content.
### Content
"Content" is basically your "library" or "inventory". It's where you add your tracks, photos, videos, shows, and merch.
This content won't automatically display on your site, you'll have control over that via "Sections". This way, you can manage your content and choose exactly what and when is displayed on your site.
### Sections
"Sections" are "blocks" that display the Content of your choice on your website. You can add and re-order as many sections as you like. When you add a section, you can then edit that section and choose what content to display.
For example, if you add a "Tracks" section, you can choose to show one or several of your tracks in that section.
You can also [schedule](/scheduling) a section, or an individual item inside it, to appear and disappear on dates you choose.
# Hero Image Section

Prominently display a large image in your site

The Hero Image Section lets you display a large, prominent image in your site. It's ideal to use this as the first section at the top of your website, but you can use it anywhere you like!
Click "Sections" in the left-hand menu, and if you don't already have one added, click "Add Section", and choose "Hero Image" as the section type.
The new section will get added... just click "Edit" above the section to edit it.
Hover over the section and click **Manage Image**. You'll see your image library, and clicking an image sets it as the Hero Image. Keep in mind that you can also just set a background image instead of (or in addition to) picking a dedicated hero image.
The images here are the ones you've added under "Photos" in the Content area. If the picker is empty, add a photo there first and it'll show up.
## A Different Image for Phones
A Hero Image section can hold two images, one for desktop and one for mobile. That's useful when your best wide shot has too much empty space on a phone, or when a taller crop tells the story better.
Each image in the picker has two buttons:
The main hero image. This is what visitors on laptops and larger tablets see.
An optional alternate for phone-sized screens. Skip it and phones use your desktop image.
Click **Save** when you're done. Once a mobile image is set, the editor shows a "Mobile Image Set" badge so you can tell at a glance.
An image can only hold one of the two roles at a time. If you set your current desktop image to Mobile, it moves over rather than doing both, so pick a second image for the other slot.
Each of the two images can also be scheduled on its own using the Schedule button, so you can swap in a tour poster for a few weeks and let it retire itself. Save your selection first, then set the schedule. See [Scheduling](/scheduling) for how that works.
## Hero Image Section Options
The **Full Width** switch sits at the top of the same window. If set to full width, the image will "touch" the edges of the visitor's screen. If not, the image will be centered in the section.
Experiment with different images and width settings to create the best "first impression" when a visitor goes to your site if you're using this section type as the very first section at the top of your site.
# Merch Section

# Photos Section

## Photo Section Options
There is an "Aspect Ratio" option for the photos section. You can choose from 3 different aspect ratios: Square (1:1), Video (16:9), or Movie Poster (27:40).
Once selected, every photo shown in this section on your website will use that aspect ratio for the photo. This creates a clean, good-lookin' grid on your site.
# Shows Section

The Shows Section automatically displays all of your upcoming gigs.

A Shows Section is somewhat unique in that it will automatically display upcoming shows, you don't have to make any manual selections like you do with some other Section types. Just visit "Shows" in the left-hand menu under "Content" to manage your actual shows.
# Text Section

# Track Section

Display and embed tracks in your site

Click "Edit Tracks" and you'll see the available tracks you have to add to the section. Click on the track(s) you'd like to include and click "Save".
## Track Section Options
There are two options available in a Track Section... you can choose to show or hide the cover art for the selected tracks, and, you can choose to embed a Spotify player.
It might go without saying, but if the track is not on Spotify, you can't embed a Spotify player. Also keep in mind that for the Track itself, you'll need to make sure you've entered the Spotify URL for thay track for the player to work.
We're planning on adding support for embedded players from other services and our own default player too... check back soon!
# Video Section

# What's a Section?

The basic building block of a Monophonic.io site

A "Section" is exactly what it sounds like, unsurprisingly... It's just a portion of the website you build with Monophonic.io.
Think of a Section as a "block" on a screen that stretches from the left edge to the right edge, and it's as tall as needed to contain whatever content it's showing. They just stack on top of each other. It's not rocket science.
## Common Section Features
Every Section shares some common features, which are accessible in the upper right corners of each section when managing your site in the Monophonic.io dashboard under the "Settings" button. They are:
* Set a backgroud image
* Set a background color
* Can be linked to in the main navigation using the "Navigation Text" option
* Can link to any URL on the internet with the "External Link" option
* Can be individually re-ordered using the "Move Up" and "Move Down" options

# Social Menu

Adding social media links to your navigation
Monophonic websites will display a "social menu" of social media links if you create those links.
To do so, log into your dashboard and click "Social Menu" in the main navigation, under the heading "Site".
You'll see an area where you can add links. Click "Add Link", and you'll be able to enter a URL and a "label" for that link.
For example, you might enter [https://www.instagram.com/melindaandthenightsky/](https://www.instagram.com/melindaandthenightsky/) as the URL and "Official Instagram" as the label.
Add as many links as you like. Your website will displays these in the upper right corner in the Social Menu, automatically using the relevant icon for each link.
# Team Members

Invite bandmates, managers, or anyone else to help manage your site
## What is a Team?
You don't have to run your site alone. As a site owner you can invite other people to help manage it. They get their own Monophonic login and can add tracks, post shows, upload photos, and edit your site's design, all without you sharing your password.
This is handy when:
* Your manager posts your tour dates while you focus on the music
* A bandmate keeps the merch section current
* A label staffer looks after one of the label's artist sites
Inviting people is **free**. Team members don't cost you anything extra and they don't need their own subscription.
Team members are per site. If you manage several sites, someone you invite to one site sees only that site. Invite them to each site you want them to help with.
## Owners and Editors
There are two roles, and everyone you invite is an **Editor**.
You. The person who created the site and pays for it. There is exactly one owner per site.
Everyone you invite. They can run the day to day of your site but can't touch billing, domains, or the team.
Here's the full split:

Editors can edit your site's Settings, including its design and info. Only invite people you trust with your site.
## Inviting Someone
You can have up to **5 team members** per site, on top of yourself.
Click **Team** in the left navigation. You'll only see it on sites you own.
Under "Invite a Member", type the email address of the person you want to add and click **Send Invitation**.
We send them an invitation with a link to accept. It works whether or not they already have a Monophonic account.
Once they click the link and sign in (or sign up), they show up in your Members list and can start working right away.
Invitation links expire after **7 days**. If someone misses the window, just send a new invitation.
### Pending invitations
Until someone accepts, their invitation sits in a **Pending Invitations** list on your Team page, showing when you sent it and when it expires. Click **Revoke** next to an invitation to cancel it. The link stops working immediately.
The Team page shows "X of 5 seats used". Pending invitations count toward that total, so revoke any you no longer need if you're running out of room.
## Accepting an Invitation
If you're the one being invited, click the link in the email and:
* **Already signed in to Monophonic?** You're added on the spot and dropped straight into the site.
* **Have an account but signed out?** Sign in and you'll be added.
* **New to Monophonic?** Create an account and you'll be added once you're verified. You don't need a subscription or a trial to be someone's editor.
Sign in or sign up with the same email address the invitation was sent to. Invitations are tied to that address, so a forwarded link won't work for a different account.
Once you're in, use the site switcher in the top navigation to move between your own sites and any sites you've been invited to. Sites you help manage look just like your own, minus the Domain and Team pages.
## Removing Someone
On the Team page, click **Remove** next to any member and confirm. They lose access to the site immediately and it disappears from their site switcher. Nothing they created is deleted, and you can always invite them back later.
## Leaving a Site
If you're an editor and you're done helping out, open your **Account** page and click **Leave This Site** in the Danger Zone. You'll lose access right away, and the owner can invite you again if you change your mind.
Owners can't leave their own site. If you want to shut a site down, delete it from your Account page instead.
Deleting your account only removes sites you own. Sites you were invited to stay right where they are, minus you.
